Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to support a large-scale semiconductor manufacturing fab construction project in Phoenix, AZ. This role will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust database systems that support engineering, construction, and operational data across a complex, fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate brings deep database expertise along with a strong technical foundation across multiple programming languages, systems, and tools commonly used in semiconductor and engineering workflows.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain high-performance, secure, and scalable database systems to support fab construction and manufacturing operations
  • Administer, monitor, and optimize MySQL and other relational database systems
  • Ensure data integrity, availability, backup, and disaster recovery strategies are in place and tested
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including process engineers, software developers, and project managers
  • Support data integration across engineering tools, simulation platforms, and business systems
  • Develop and maintain scripts, automation, and tools using languages such as Java, Python, C, and C++
  • Work within Linux and Unix environments to manage database infrastructure
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, data models, and system architecture diagrams
  • Analyze performance bottlenecks and implement tuning strategies
  • Support reporting and analytics efforts using advanced Excel and other Microsoft Office tools
  • Assist in prototyping, modeling, and system workflows using tools such as MATLAB, Logisim, and Axure RP
  • Ensure compliance with security standards and organizational policies


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 7+ years of experience as a Database Administrator or Database Engineer
  • Strong expertise in MySQL and SQL performance tuning
  • Experience working in Linux/Unix environments
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages: Java, Python, C, or C++
  • Experience supporting large-scale, data-intensive environments


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the semiconductor industry, particularly in fab construction or manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with additional languages and systems: Scheme, Prolog, MIPS
  • Experience with engineering and modeling tools such as MATLAB and Logisim
  • Working knowledge of web technologies (HTML, XML)
  • Experience with UI/UX prototyping tools such as Axure RP
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and broader Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
