Job Title: Database Administrator (DBA Level 3)
Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid – Only Local Candidates)
Job Summary:
seeking a senior Database Administrator (Level 3) with 14+ years of experience to manage, maintain, and optimize DB2 database environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in DB2, Unix/Linux platforms, and database performance tuning in enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support DB2 databases in enterprise environments
- Manage database performance tuning, monitoring, and optimization
- Handle installation, configuration, and maintenance of DB2 systems
- Work with DB2 licensing (Passport Advantage)
- Perform backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning
- Develop and maintain shell scripts for automation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for database support and issue resolution
- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance standards
Required Skills & Experience
- 14+ years of overall IT experience
- 8+ years of DB2 database administration
- Strong experience with DB2 Licensing (Passport Advantage)
- Experience with AIX/UNIX/Linux environments
- Hands-on experience in Shell scripting
- Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience with DB2 on AIX (5+ years preferred)
- Exposure to enterprise-level database environments
- Strong documentation and communication skills
Work Environment & Additional Details
- Hybrid role – Onsite in Austin, TX required
- Candidates must be local to Texas
- Work hours: Mon–Fri, 8 AM – 5 PM (with flexibility as needed)
