Are you a hands-on HVAC, Electrical, Critical Facilities, or Data Center professional looking to share your knowledge and help develop the next generation of technicians?

We are seeking a Critical Facilities Technician Instructor Assistant to join a growing training team in Atlanta, GA. This role will support the Lead Instructor in delivering hands-on training focused on mission-critical infrastructure and data center operations.

What You'll Do

  • Assist with classroom instruction, labs, attendance tracking, assessments, and student coaching.
  • Support training on:
  • Electrical distribution systems (3-phase power, switchgear, PDUs)
  • UPS and backup power systems
  • Generators and Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS)
  • HVAC and cooling systems (CRAC/CRAH, chillers, hydronic systems)
  • Building Management Systems (BMS) and DCIM platforms
  • Guide students through troubleshooting exercises and practical lab activities.
  • Monitor student progress and provide one-on-one support when needed.
  • Maintain training records, grades, attendance, and performance documentation within LMS platforms.
  • Assist with curriculum improvements and classroom operations.

Training Environment

  • Structured 15-week curriculum already developed.
  • Combination of classroom instruction, hands-on labs, and immersive learning experiences.
  • Virtual reality (VR) technology used to simulate data center and plant environments.
  • Technology platforms include Canvas LMS, Slack, and Google Workspace.

Required Qualifications

  • HVAC, Electrical, Industrial Maintenance, Critical Facilities, or Data Center background.
  • 3+ years of experience working in data centers, critical facilities, industrial maintenance, or similar environments.
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Electrical systems and power distribution
  • UPS and backup power systems
  • Industrial HVAC and cooling systems
  • Building monitoring and controls systems
  • Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA 70E, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and related safety standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to mentor and support adult learners in a classroom environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous teaching, training, coaching, or instructor experience.
  • Experience with SCADA, BMS, or DCIM platforms.
  • OSHA 10/30 Certification.
  • Electrical, HVAC, or Maintenance certifications.
  • Experience using Canvas LMS or similar learning management systems.
  • Experience working in data centers or mission-critical environments.
