Day to Day:
The Production Data Center Operator supports MedImpact’s Phoenix–Tempe data center environment, providing hands-on operational support for server infrastructure, network hardware, cabling, power, and cooling systems. This role works closely with IT Architecture, Network Engineering, and Security teams to ensure the reliability, availability, and integrity of critical healthcare IT systems.
Requirements:
5+ years of Hands-on experience in a production data center operations or infrastructure support role
Proficiency with physical server and network hardware, including racking, stacking, cabling, and break/fix
Experience with structured cabling (Cat6/Cat6A and fiber), patch panels, and documentation standards
Working knowledge of power and cooling systems, including PDUs, UPS, CRAC/CRAH units, and hot/cold aisle containment
Strong understanding of A+B redundant power architectures and single points of failure identification
Experience using ticketing and change management systems (ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools)
Familiarity with environmental monitoring systems (temperature, humidity, airflow)
Experience with asset tracking and inventory management
Understanding of incident management, escalation procedures, and MoP execution
DCIM platform experience (Sunbird, Nlyte, or similar)
Experience with HP/Cisco UCS server platforms
Experience with Component-level work: drives, RAM, NICs, PSUs, CPUs, GPUs
Basic knowledge of switching, VLANs, routing, and switch CLI (Cisco, Juniper, Aruba)
