The Cybersecurity Analyst II will support cybersecurity activities across cloud, lab, and fielded system environments, including AWS GovCloud, local integration labs, and site-based or LAN-only systems. This role will perform vulnerability scanning, support STIG implementation, track remediation, assist with compliance activities, and coordinate with IT, software, program, and customer stakeholders. The ideal candidate can work independently, communicate clearly, and contribute quickly with limited oversite. Travel to customer or integration sites is required.
Responsibilities- Run vulnerability scans, analyze results, track findings, and support remediation.
- Support STIG implementation, system hardening, access controls, and secure configuration activities.
- Support cybersecurity tasks across cloud, lab, and site-based environments.
- Coordinate with technical teams, program leadership, customers, and other stakeholders.
- Develop scripts or automation to improve repeatability and efficiency of cybersecurity tasks.
- Support compliance, audit preparation, evidence collection, documentation, and incident response activities.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience in cybersecurity, system administration, DevSecOps, information assurance, or related technical role.
- Working knowledge of networking, Windows/Linux systems, access controls, security tools, and cybersecurity practices.
- Experience supporting cybersecurity activities in cloud, lab, enterprise, or restricted network environments.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- U.S. citizen with active or obtainable Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience hardening Windows and/or Linux systems using STIGs, security baselines, or similar guidance.
- Experience with AWS GovCloud or other secure cloud environments.
- Experience supporting RMF, NIST 800-171, NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, or DoD cybersecurity compliance efforts.
- Experience with SIEM, EDR, vulnerability scanners, endpoint protection, patching tools, or configuration management tools.
- Experience developing scripts or automation using Python, PowerShell, Bash, C#, Java, C++, or similar languages.
- Experience performing vulnerability scans and supporting remediation activities.
- CompTIA Security+
- CySA+, CASP+, CISSP, or equivalent certification preferred.
