As a Cyber Systems Security Engineer, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the cyber security of our platforms, from design to implementation. Your expertise will help us create cyber-resilient security design solutions that meet the needs of our customers and protect our systems from emerging threats.

In this role, you will apply an interdisciplinary and collaborative approach to plan, design, develop, validate, and verify cyber engineering solutions throughout their lifecycle to ensure cyber security requirements are effectively defined, decomposed, implemented, and assessed to create resilient security solutions.

Basic Qualifications:
- Validate system security‑engineering cyber requirements through decomposition, allocation, and thorough analysis.

- Analyze product designs for weaknesses, vulnerabilities, and threats to assess the system’s security posture and recommend effective remediation solutions.

- Experience utilizing NIST 800-53 Rev. 5, Committee on National Security Systems Instruction (CNSSI) 1253, and NIST SP 800-37 Risk Management Framework (RMF) to design and harden information systems.

- Conduct cyber risk analyses and security assessments, and evaluate applicability of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to mitigate vulnerabilities and address compliance.

- Develop artifacts to support Interim Authorizations to Test (IATT), and Authorizations to Operate (ATO)

- Experience assessing and mitigating system security risk throughout the System development life cycle.

- Utilization of cyber tools for enterprise security, vulnerability scanning and network monitoring

- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security considerations into platform development.

- Strong background in operating systems, including Windows Server and Linux distributions (RHEL)

- Strong technical understanding of system architecture, design, and security principles.

- Demonstrate a solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including routing and switching protocols and architectures.

- Hands on expertise with virtualization technologies.

- DoD 8140 Level II or higher certificate or such as CompTIA Security+ CE, CySA, CASP, GSEC, CISSP.

- Ability to travel as required (typically up to 20%)
Desired Skills:
- Able to conduct supplemental enhanced security reviews as mandated by government contracts.

- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline or related field, or equivalent cyber engineering experience.

- Experience supporting DoD programs with CDS needs.

- Design, implement, deploy, and maintain state-of-the-art system security architectures and countermeasures to protect and enable innovative new products.

- Experience conducting or participating in penetration tests and cyber table tops exercises

- Evaluation of TTPs resulting in attack path analysis reports

- Experience with software code analyzers, review and analysis of risk reports based on threats and vulnerabilities

- Software programming background and scripting skills to automate tasks (e.g. Ansible, Python, Bash, Perl, Batch, VBScript, PowerShell, etc.).

- Experience in vulnerability remediation and security management, including system hardening, log management, and configuration control using tools like Nessus, McAfee, WSUS, Shavlik, Blade Logic, Splunk, ACAS, SCAP, and HBSS.

- Familiarity with embedded systems such as ASIC or FPGA based computing.

- Familiarity with storage solutions and servers.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $101,000 - $178,135. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $116,200 - $201,365. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
