Chronos Operations (CO) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Chenega Corporation, an Alaska Native Corporation based in Anchorage, AK. Belonging to the Military, Intelligence, and Operations Support (MIOS) Strategic Business Unit (SBU), Chronos has a culture rooted in integrity, respect, and exceptional performance. Chronos is headquartered in Colorado Springs, CO, and provides mission-critical services in Advanced Analytics & AI, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, and Intelligence.
Chronos Operations, LLC is seeking a Cyber Defense Fusion Analyst with a strong background in cybersecurity for the Army Materiel Command (AMC), Chief Information Office (CIO). This role is responsible for performing threat assessments, correlating threat data, and delivering Risk to Mission Assessments.
Responsibilities
- Performdefensive cyber threat assessmentsby analyzing technical indicators, vulnerabilities, and attack patterns affecting Army networks, systems, and missions.
- Correlatedefensive cyber threat datafrom authorized cybersecurity sources to supportRisk to Mission Assessmentsand operational decision-making.
- Assesscyber risks to Army information systems, operational technologies, and mission-critical environments in support of network defense and mission assurance.
- Analyzeadversary cyber behaviors and techniquesstrictly to understanddefensive impacts, vulnerabilities, and mitigation requirements.
- Producedefensive cyber risk and threat analysis reportsfocused on system impact, mission risk, and recommended cybersecurity controls.
- Providedefensive cyber risk insightsto cybersecurity teams, system owners, and leadership to support mitigation and remediation actions.
- Supportcybersecurity incident response activities, including technical analysis, root-cause assessment, and post-incident reporting.
- Conducttechnical cybersecurity investigationsrelated to suspected or confirmed network intrusions, malware infections, or system compromises.
- Performmalware and exploit analysisto determine system impact, indicators of compromise, and defensive countermeasures.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, risk management, and engineering personnel to ensuredefensive controls and protections remain effective.
- Utilizeapproved cybersecurity and defensive threat analysis toolsto analyze authorized technical data related to network and system security.
- Monitor evolvingcybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and defensive countermeasuresrelevant to Army missions and environments.
- Provide guidance ondefensive cybersecurity practices, including incident response, recovery, and resilience.
- Assist in the development ofdefensive cyber procedures, playbooks, and risk mitigation approachesaligned with Army and DoD policy.
- Delivercyber threat awareness and defensive readiness briefingsfocused on improving cybersecurity posture and mission resilience.
- May supervise others performingdefensive cybersecurity support functions.
- Perform other assigned dutieswithin Title 10 authorities and defensive cyber mission scope.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 5+ years of experiencecollecting, analyzing, and disseminatingdefensive cyber threat intelligencein support of cybersecurity operations.
- 3+ years of experiencein cybersecurity, cyber threat analysis, or related defensive cyber disciplines.
- 3+ years of experience supporting federal cybersecurity initiatives, preferably within DoD or Army environments.
- Familiarity withcyber threat intelligence platforms, frameworks, and defensive analysis methodologies.
- Experience withcybersecurity monitoring, threat analysis, and security information platforms.
- Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility(required due to system access, not intelligence tasking).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
- Professional certifications such asCISSP, CEH, or equivalent are highly desirable.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of Title 10 U.S. Code on Intelligence Activities in accordance with DoD and Army policy.
- Strong ability to analyze and interpretcomplex cyber threat and security datafor defensive purposes.
- In-depth knowledge ofcybersecurity threats, attack vectors, and adversary behaviorsrelevant to network defense.
- Proficiency withcyber threat analysis and cybersecurity toolsused in defensive operations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to briefsenior government and corporate leadershipon cyber risk.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across cybersecurity, engineering, and operational teams.
- Demonstrated analytical problem-solving skills and sound judgment in mission-critical environments.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to meet and maintain clearance requirements.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
