At Dollar General, we’re committed to Serving Others - and that includes protecting our business, customers, and supply chain through strong global compliance practices.

We’re looking for a Customs Compliance Manager to lead critical import classification and trade compliance efforts. This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, brings deep technical expertise, and is ready to take ownership of complex, high-visibility work.

What You’ll Own

This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate duty payments, compliant import processes, and minimized risk across our global supply chain. You’ll:

  • Lead product classification (HTSUS) to ensure accurate duty assignment and landed cost calculations
  • Review and approve import quote sheets, validating classification, duty rates, and compliance requirements
  • Determine country of origin, trade program eligibility, and applicability of tariffs (Section 301, 232, IEEPA, etc.)
  • Partner with vendors, sourcing teams, and brokers to gather required product data and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with Partner Government Agencies (FDA, USDA, Fish & Wildlife, etc.)
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for Customs brokers and support CBP interactions, including binding rulings and RFIs
  • Maintain and improve classification processes, data accuracy, and compliance workflows
  • Develop and deliver compliance training to internal teams and external partners
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across Global Compliance

What You Bring (Must-Haves)

5+ years of experience in Customs Compliance, Trade Compliance, or Brokerage

✔ Strong expertise in HTSUS classification and import regulations

✔ Proven experience classifying products for importation (required)

✔ Deep knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, country of origin rules, and PGA requirements

✔ Experience working with tariffs, trade programs, and duty impact analysis

✔ Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions

✔ Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment

✔ Confident communicator who can partner effectively across vendors, merchants, and leadership

🎓 Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) required

📜 U.S. Customs Broker License strongly preferred (will consider exceptional candidates without it)

Why This Role Stands Out

  • High visibility role supporting enterprise-wide import compliance strategy
  • Opportunity to influence process improvements and risk mitigation at scale
  • Strong cross-functional partnership with merchants, sourcing, and global vendors
  • Leadership exposure and the ability to drive meaningful change
