Customer Support Engineer - Morehead, KY (On-site; Day shift)

Position Summary: Rajant is seeking a Support Agent to join the Customer Support & Managed Services Department for Rajant’s industry-leading mesh networking products. This is a full-time, in-person, entry-level position at our office in Morehead, KY.

A good match has a general understanding of wired and wireless networking and is comfortable learning new tools. Bash and Python scripting experience is helpful but not required. If you are a problem solver who loves figuring out how things work, this role is a great fit for you.

What You’ll Do:

• Triage incoming support requests via portal, email, and phone in Odoo Helpdesk (or similar).
• Provide timely acknowledgement and set clear expectations for next updates.
• Capture entitlement, site details, severity, and core diagnostics; gather logs and evidence.
• Perform first-line troubleshooting using runbooks and knowledge base articles; stabilize issues where possible.
• Assign or engage next-level engineers when needed and own the case through closure.
• Document steps taken and outcomes; contribute improvements to runbooks and templates.
• Participate in weekly retrospectives and help ship small process/tooling improvements.
• Communicate professionally with customers and partners throughout the lifecycle of the case.

This is what a Successful Candidate looks like:

• Having a Computer Science or Engineering degree is preferred. Equivalent experience is a substitute for a degree.
• General understanding of wireless networking (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax).
• General understanding of wired networking.
• Experience with Python and Bash scripting would be useful but not required.
• Great communication skills. Great troubleshooting skills. Self-motivated.
• Ability to view things from the end user’s perspective.
• Most importantly, you're a curious team player for whom a "good day" means you helped others & learned something new.
