As a Trade and Settlement Associate in the India Custody Operations team, you will lead trade and settlements team, ensuring flawless service delivery and compliance with local and global standards. You’ll partner with product, technology, legal, compliance, and risk teams to deliver high-quality outcomes, drive process improvements, and maintain a strong control environment.

Our team supports a diverse client base, including asset managers, pension funds, insurance companies, and sovereign bodies. We are committed to operational excellence, market advocacy, and continuous improvement, working closely with internal and external partners to deliver best-in-class custody solutions.

Job responsibilities

  • Oversee end-to-end trade management, settlement, and custodian services for a diverse client base
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners, including regulators and market infrastructure entities
  • Participate in market advocacy to enhance client experience, manage risk, and drive operational efficiency
  • Evaluate and improve workflows and processes to increase efficiency, timeliness, and accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with audit and regulatory requirements; serve as the focal point for audits and client visits
  • Develop and manage projects focused on system enhancements and end-to-end process reviews
  • Identify, monitor, and manage operational risks, ensuring robust controls are in place
  • Develop succession plans and build team knowledge through cross-training and coaching
  • Provide development opportunities to team members to support career growth
  • Deliver on cost-saving and productivity targets while maintaining high service standards

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • At least 5 years of experience in Trade Management in Direct custody
  • Strong people management skills with the ability to develop and guide staff in a team-oriented environment
  • Strong risk and control awareness; ability to prioritize workloads and meet critical deadlines
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to handle challenging situations internally and externally

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Master’s degree preferred (MBA, Chartered Accountant, or equivalent)
  • Team player with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Eagerness to learn and ability to motivate others
  • Strong analytical and logical thinking skills
  • Excellent written and oral English communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing volumes while maintaining accuracy and quality
