About Us:

Established in 1963, and situated in the Santa Cruz Mountains on 180 acres of old-growth redwood forest, Roaring Camp Inc. is a heritage tourist railroad that offers two unique journeys. The Bear Mountain excursion offers year around steam train excursions through the old growth redwood forest, while the Santa Cruz Beach Train offers seasonal excursions through the Redwood Forests to the sandy beaches of Santa Cruz.

Position Summary

The Custodial Building Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and overall appearance of indoor facilities throughout the theme park. This role plays a critical part in ensuring a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable environment for guests and employees by upholding high standards of cleanliness and operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, dining areas, offices, retail spaces, and other indoor facilities

  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust floors and surfaces as needed

  • Empty trash and recycling receptacles and replace liners

  • Restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and cleaning materials

  • Respond promptly to spills, accidents, or guest service requests

  • Maintain cleanliness of high-touch surfaces to meet health and safety standards

  • Report maintenance issues, damage, or safety hazards to supervisors

  • Assist with deep cleaning projects and seasonal maintenance tasks

  • Operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, buffers, and vacuums

  • Follow all safety procedures and proper handling of cleaning chemicals

  • Provide courteous assistance and directions to guests when needed

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

  • Previous custodial or janitorial experience is a plus, but not required

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-traffic environment

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness

  • Good communication and customer service skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods

  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds

  • Comfortable working indoors and occasionally in varying temperatures

  • Ability to handle cleaning chemicals safely

Work Environment
  • High guest interaction in a busy theme park setting

  • May require evenings, weekends, and holidays

  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals, noise, and large crowds
