Cushman Boiler Guard (2026)
Requirements
The Boiler Guard is responsible for monitoring, reporting, and record keeping for state and federal regulations and per company policies. This includes audits, inspections, and documentation of boiler and chiller operations. The boiler guard is responsible for providing expedient service to the facility’s equipment to ensure maximum efficiency and quality performance. They are responsible for ensuring the security of the visitors and associates of the Cushman Plant. This position is located at the Cushman Plant in Williamston, SC, and reports to the Engineering Services Manager.

Competencies
Work Environment
This job operates across the entire plant to some degree and includes a boiler house. The boiler house is an isolated work area. There is only one boiler guard per shift. This role routinely uses hand tools, power tools, and powered industrial equipment.
Physical Demands
This position requires the ability to lift and move objects of 50 pounds and be capable of using motorized equipment (fork trucks, tuggers, etc). The position requires frequent walking, climbing stairs, and using ladders.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. The position is made of 10-hour shifts on a rotating schedule (6a-4p, 6p-4a).
During full plant shutdowns, at minimum 6 days throughout a year, the position is on 12-hour rotating shifts (6a-6p, 6p-6a).
Being on call is a requirement of this position.
Travel
No travel is expected for this position.
Preferred Education and Experience
Two-year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship program or equivalent experience in a mechanical or electrical related field
Knowledge of boiler and steam systems operation
