The Opportunity:

Tetra Tech's Salt Lake City office is seeking seasonal Cultural Resource/Archaeological Technicians to join our high-performing team to assist in our continued provision of top-of-the-line client services. The position will require working with field survey leads on teams of varying size depending on the project. The position requires frequent project travel that will range in duration from eight-days on/six-days off sessions to shorter time periods and day trips depending on project location and scale. For overnight travel, crew members will receive per diem based on current GSA rates for the area and single occupancy hotel. Potential projects include, but are not limited to field inventory, monitoring, evaluative testing, visual resource assessment, and site mitigation for the prehistoric and historic cultural resources common in the Intermountain West and Southwest regions.

Essential Job Functions:

The candidate must follow company and project specific health and safety compliance during field work. The candidate will work collaboratively with the crew lead to do field work including conducting pedestrian inventory and construction monitoring. The majority of work will be completing pedestrian survey transects during and assist in documentation of cultural resources and evaluative testing as assigned by the field lead. Required Qualifications:

  • BA in Archaeology/Anthropology.

  • Entry-level or greater experience.

  • No required licenses/certifications.

  • Candidate must have attended an archaeological field school.

  • A Pre-employment drug screen in compliance with state regulations is required.

  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Field school that focused on North American archaeology.

  • Familiarity with ArcGIS ArcMap, Survey123, and/or related GPS-based systems.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to travel (approx. 75-100% of travel required).

  • Pedestrian survey over uneven terrain during varying weather conditions for at least 10-hour days.

  • Ability to lift, carry. and/or move up to 35 lbs. for prolonged periods of time.

  • Office work will consist of frequent periods of time sitting or standing at a desk and using a computer and other office equipment.

Work Environment / Environmental Factors:

  • Traverse over uneven terrain during varying weather conditions for at least 10-hour days, for consecutive days up to 10 days at a time.

  • Ability to lift, carry. and/or move up to 35 lbs. for prolonged periods of time.

  • Work will occur in outdoor rugged terrain and in varying weather conditions.

  • Open / rugged terrain outdoors regardless of weather conditions.

  • Part-time temporary position, no scheduled hours. Hours will vary based on project/client needs.�
