Compensation Range: Hourly, Negotiable Based on Experience
Hours per week: Variable – Part-Time 16-24 hours per week; Full-Time 32-40 hours per week
Work Location: Nourish Kitchen, off-site as needed

Position Summary
The Culinary Coordinator supports the planning and hands-on execution of Nourish's culinary programming and kitchen operations under the direction of the Culinary Manager. This role assists with food preparation and delivery, hands-on cooking classes, catering, field trips, and culinary experiences both on-site at the Nourish kitchen and at partner and community locations. Working alongside the Culinary Manager, staff, interns, and volunteers, the Culinary Coordinator plays a key operational role in delivering high-quality, mission-aligned culinary experiences for participants of all ages.
Responsibility Level
Coordinator — Program coordination and logistical implementation.
Budget and Resource Responsibility
• Assists with tracking food procurement costs and aligning purchases with program budgets.
• Supports sourcing list preparation for cost-effective local procurement and to limit food waste
• Maintains accurate logs and documentation to support inventory and budget tracking.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Culinary Program Planning and Implementation
• Independently execute and lead food preparation and delivery for classes, catering, field trips, rentals, school and community food experiences, and other programs as directed by the Culinary Manager.
• Assist with seasonal menu implementation, recipe scaling, and sourcing list preparation in coordination with the Culinary Manager and farm staff.
• Lead culinary-focused education and experiences for classes, demonstrations, and other programs
• Maintain working knowledge of seasonal produce grown on the farm
• Maintain accurate tracking logs, support kitchen sanitation and upkeep, and assist with food procurement as directed.
• Open and close the kitchen as assigned, following established food safety and sanitation protocols.
Kitchen and Program Operations
• Support daily kitchen operations including food safety compliance, sanitation, inventory support, and equipment care.
• Assist with and collaborate on delivery of Nourish programming including Good Food Club, Nourish Together, Rentals and Catering, and other events.
• Help maintain organized systems for recipes, inventory, and program documentation, including tracking food usage and donations.
• Communicate effectively with the Culinary Manager, staff, interns, and volunteers to ensure smooth program operations.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position provides day-to-day direction to kitchen volunteers and interns during programs and events under the guidance of the Culinary Manager. The Culinary Coordinator oversees Culinary Assistants in the Culinary Manager’s absence.
Required Qualifications
• Minimum of 3 years of culinary experience with a focus on scratch cooking and seasonal foods.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in leadership
• Food Safety Certification
• Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with nonprofit or educational culinary programming.
• Familiarity with local and regional food systems and seasonal sourcing.
• Experience with SharePoint, OneDrive, Microsoft Office, Canva, QuickBooks Time, or similar tools.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
• Operates primarily in the Nourish commercial kitchen and farm site; may support schools and community centers as needed.
• Routinely uses standard office and kitchen equipment, and software including Microsoft Office, SharePoint, OneDrive, QuickBooks Time, Canva, and the Internet.
• Some evening, weekend, and holiday work required to support Nourish programs; flexible scheduling within task completion.
• Role is consistently standing, bending, moving, and lifting; ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds required.
