Attend in-person outreach events at designated locations in the community to raise awareness of CSU Extension programs.
Represent CSU Extension by answering questions and providing front line support during public programs and outreach events.
Support CSU Extension programs, staff, and volunteers through a variety of administrative and organizational tasks.
Assists with set-up, clean-up, and other logistics related to outreach events and garden programs.
Help with general maintenance of the educational garden as needed.
Education
High School Diploma/GED equivalent - required
NAI certifications - preferred
Experience
Less than one year experience in an office environment, navigating basic communication and planning tools, and working as part of a team - preferred
Formal or informal experience with gardening or educational programs in general - preferred
Years of related experience may be substituted for required education, however education cannot be substituted for the necessary work experience. Candidates must meet the minimum required years of work experience.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (in addition to above requirements):
Must be at least 18 years old. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and safe driving record for continued employment. New hires must, as a condition of employment, pass the following pre-offer and post-offer/hire processes: in-person or virtual interviews, reference checks, and background checks, which may include local police check, sex-offender registry, and DMV check.
Requires indoor and outdoor activities.
Work will primarily take place at the CSU Extension office and Library, the Teaching Vegetable Garden at Brunner Farmhouse, and at various community locations selected for outreach.
Some weekends and occasional evenings are required.
Some opportunities for remote work with flexible scheduling.
Required to lift, push, pull, or otherwise move objects during program activities.
