Job Duties:
- The CSS - Intergovernmental Registration Specialist is responsible for reviewing, analyzing and processing incoming intergovernmental petitions received by South Carolina under the Uniform Interstate Family Support Act (UIFSA), and is responsible for providing general child support services to clients as required or needed.
- Reviews all incoming intergovernmental child support petitions received under UIFSA requesting enforcement of existing child support orders for accuracy, data consistency throughout, and ensures petition meets all established document requirements.
- Utilizes the Palmetto Automated Child Support System (PACSS) to complete accurate documentation related to all case activities
- Addresses all discrepancies or inconsistencies noted on the incoming UIFSA petitions requesting enforcement directly with the initiating jurisdictions by mail, email, fax or the CSENet function within the PACSS system.
- Interprets Federal regulations, interprets Child Support Services Division policies and procedures to ensure timely processing of cases.
- Provides internal and external customer service (e.g., respond to emails, phone calls, etc.) within 48 hours.
- Ensures personally identifying information (PII) is properly used, accessed, gathered, shared, and disposed; protect agency networks and applications by safeguarding system, equipment, and data.
- Performs Red Cross shelter duty or other emergency shelter duty/services as directed. Performs related duties as required.
A High School Diploma and four (4) years of clerical, administrative, social work, correctional, business administration, or general business experience.
An Associate Degree and two (2) years of clerical, administrative, social work, correctional, business administration, or general business experience.
A Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree may be substituted for the required experience.This application for employment with the SC Department of Social Services must be completed in its entirety.
