The Institute for Critical Care Medicine and the Department of Neurosurgery at the Mount Sinai Health System in New York, NY, seeks a dynamic fellowship-trained Intensivist to join its expanding team to attend in the adult Neurosciences Intensive Care Units! Full-time positions are available.
Successful applicants will be outstanding, highly collaborative clinicians who are Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurocritical care with a passion for acute care and a shared commitment to our academic mission. It will be a mix of shifts in the NSICUs and on the Rapid Response Team. Outstanding communication skills, high emotional intelligence, adaptability, and the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment are essential.
The Neurocritical care team fully staffs and runs two Neurosciences ICUs (NSICUs): a completely new construction state of the art 18-bed unit occupying an entire floor in The Mount Sinai Hospital (MSH) and a very modern 14-bed NSICU at Mount Sinai West (MSW). In addition, NSICU intensivists oversee Neurocritical care across the entire health system by staffing the Neuro Emergencies Management and Transfers (NEMAT) program in addition to other Telehealth initiatives. These programs ensure that time-dependent treatments are projected to sites where patients arrive, and resource-intensive treatments are focused in centers of excellence. Educational and research conferences are fully integrated between campuses. This is a transformational opportunity for highly motivated junior faculty as well as accomplished faculty.
