Responsibilities
Job Summary
Senior creditpolicy and governance roleresponsible forcoordinating with businesslineon development, management and communication of policies, guidelines, and processes, along with the tools supporting underwriting and delivery of credit.Responsibilitieswill bescopedbasedonthe Credit Policy and Regulatory Oversight Teamsobjectivesof aligning, governing,interpretingand training on policy,guidelinesand regulatory requirementsin accordance withoverall bank strategies and risk appetite.
Oversight responsibilities will includea broadfocus on Credit Manual governance and oversight activities.
Specific oversight responsibilities may also be focused as the lead creditpolicyspecialist fordevelopment and maintenance ofspecificareasof lending focus.Specifically,work with commercial lines of business credit officers and production staff toidentifydevelopand implement credit policies guidelines andprocedures;assistwith oversight and coordination of development and delivery of credit training. Responsible for monitoring adherence toestablishedpolicies and guidelines, compliance with regulations,andconsultingregardingcredit issues.
We are an in-office culture and provide locations throughout our footprint inMinneapolis / St Paul, Chicago area, Milwaukee, Grand Rapids, Ann Arbor MI, Indianapolis, Evansville IN, Louisville KY, and Nashville TN.
Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $81,700.00/Yr. - $165,100.00/Yr.. Final compensation will be determined by location, skills, experience, qualifications and the career level at which the position is filled.
KeyAccountabilities
- Draft policies, guidelines, and procedures for discussion, in coordination within thebusiness linecollaborating with both Credit and Sales.Recommend policy,guideline, and procedure changes tothe Credit Policy Director and theCredit PolicyCommittee.Manage process for obtaining approval.EnsureCreditManualremainsupdated to meet the needs of various business segments and regulatoryenvironment.
- Collaborate and coordinate with businesslineto ensure effective interaction with all enterprise departmentsimpactingcredit.
- Providesadvisory input on complex credit structures and policy interpretation.
- Identify, prioritize, and coordinate needs for credit products, services, and support. Act asa SMEbusiness owner on projects as needed.Assistin exception framework enablement and ongoingmonitoringof exceptions topolicy andguidelines.
- Leverage portfolio trends, exception data, and risk metrics to inform policy design, thresholds, and guardrails, in coordinationwith leadership.Communicate changes to policies, guidelines, and procedures in the field.
- Providetraining,as needed.
- Oversee implementation of changes.Consult withkey stakeholderson interpretation and implementation of policies, guidelines, and procedures.Assist in theorganizeand inventory ofcredit manual sections to advance governance, documentation standards and ease of use and clarity.
- Assistwith the coordination ofresponses and remediation related to policy-related exam findings, MRA/MRIA actions, and internal audit issues.
- Document the credit manual changeprocessincluding clearly defining change management cadence and timelines andcommunicateprocess changes with all key constituents.
- Tracks approval and effective datesandensurestimelypolicy reviews arecompleted.
- Consult with and provide analytical support to bankers, analysts, Credit PolicyDirectorand Chief Credit Officer on credit issues and questions.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience and 8yearsrelatable credit experience.
- Preferred experience with Commercial and Specialty Lending Policies (Asset BasedLending, Capital Markets,Syndications, Franchise,Sponsor Finance,Healthcare,Financial Institutions, CRE, C&I and AG)
- Worked with policy frameworks at $50B + institutions

- Use analytics to build out credit policies and guidelines for our lending business that support businessobjectives.
- Develop,implementandtrainnew credit policies and guidelines.
- Manage and enhance the documentation and change management processes for all Credit Manual changes as assigned by Credit Policy Director.
- Solicit feedback from key stakeholders on improvements to the Credit Manual.
- Policy and Guideline Reviews arecompleted timely.
- Examiner feedback with nopolicy relatedcriticisms.
- Reduction in policy exceptions drivenby clarity.
- Stakeholdersatisfaction with theuseability of the CreditManual.
