Title: Credentialing Specialist
Duration: 6-month contract (taking over for medical leave)
Pay rate: $32 - $40
Location: Newark, NJ
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 37.5 hour work week (flexible start time 8 or 9 AM)

Must-Haves
- Medical Staff Credentialing experience for physicians/faculty
- Hands-on experience with provider enrollment (Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care plans)
- Knowledge of NJ physician licensing, DEA registration, and hospital privilege requirements
- Strong documentation management and application processing skills
- Experience coordinating with hospitals, clinical faculty, and administrative offices
- Ability to manage new hire and reappointment credentialing cycles
- High attention to detail and follow-through in regulated environments
Plusses
- Experience working in an academic medical center or university-based practice
- Familiarity with UPA of NJ or similar practice plans
- Experience with online credentialing and payer enrollment portals
- Prior exposure to managed care or practice plan administration workflows
- Credentialing software or systems experience
Day-to-Day
- Manage medical staff credentialing for new clinical faculty (full-time, part-time, per diem)
- Oversee annual reappointments and ongoing privilege renewals
- Serve as the primary point of contact for faculty completing credentialing applications
- Collect, review, and track required documentation (NJ license, DEA, CVs, etc.)
- Submit and coordinate hospital privilege applications across assigned hospitals
- Partner with Managed Care Office and Practice Plan Administration on provider enrollment
- Submit provider demographics for enrollment with Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care plans
- Track application status and ensure completeness across multiple systems
- Support new physician hires through a 3‑month end-to-end onboarding/credentialing process
