Locations: Los Angeles, San Francisco, or Washington, DC (Remote, must reside near offices)

Compensation: Non-Exempt

  • Los Angeles / Washington, DC: $42.74–$44.20/hour
  • San Francisco: $47.00–$48.62/hour


A technology-driven law firm is seeking a highly skilled Court Services Specialist to support its litigation teams across multiple offices. This is a strong remote opportunity for candidates based in Los Angeles, San Francisco, or Washington, DC, offering meaningful exposure to complex litigation matters and a collaborative, fast-paced environment.


This role plays a critical function in managing court deadlines, filings, and procedural compliance. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in litigation docketing and electronic filing, along with the ability to operate independently while coordinating across distributed teams.


Key Responsibilities

Litigation Calendaring & Docket Management

  • Maintain and update case calendars across jurisdictions using specialized docketing systems
  • Interpret court notices, filings, and procedural rules to accurately calculate and track deadlines
  • Generate recurring and ad hoc reports outlining upcoming case milestones
  • Partner with attorneys and case teams to ensure calendar accuracy and alignment with litigation strategy
  • Conduct periodic reviews of active matters to confirm deadlines are current and properly recorded
  • Research applicable rules and procedures to support precise deadline calculation and compliance

Court Filings & Procedural Support

  • Handle end-to-end filing processes in state and federal courts, including electronic submissions and service coordination
  • Review documents for compliance with court formatting and procedural requirements prior to submission
  • Coordinate logistics for filings, including timing, resources, and vendor support where applicable
  • Monitor filing confirmations and proactively communicate status updates to legal teams
  • Serve as a point of contact for court-related inquiries, including filing protocols and procedural guidance
  • Facilitate service of process and distribution of filed materials as needed

Systems, Research & Operations

  • Maintain internal systems with up-to-date case information and filing records
  • Retrieve and organize litigation documents from electronic databases upon request
  • Track and manage attorney court access credentials and resolve related technical issues
  • Stay current on rule changes across jurisdictions and share relevant updates with internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve processes and mitigate calendaring or filing risks


Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • 2+ years of hands-on electronic filing experience and docketing/calendaring required
  • Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local court rules and procedures
  • Experience with e-filing platforms (e.g., CM/ECF) and legal research tools
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • High attention to detail with a track record of accuracy in deadline management
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Self-directed and comfortable working in a remote, distributed team setting
