Position Overview
Position provides and supports the cost accounting duties of the business. Responsibilities include partnering with IT, Product teams, Sales and Operational partners to improve business insights by accounting for operational activities while supporting the accumulation and analysis of data for management as it relates to business decisions. This is not a supervisory role.
Responsibilities
Accounting:
•Maintain and track costs for materials, labor and overhead.
•Calculate and apply absorption rates for manufacturing overhead costs and review those rates regularly for any changes in production levels and cost structure.
•Work in the ERP subsystems to validate inventory valuation and perform variance analysis.
•Maintain subsystem dataflow to ERP for the process of daily posting related to business activities
•Actively perform month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals
•Support Implementation, documentation and maintenance of adequate and effective internal controls and standard operating procedures
•Ensure financial policies are followed in accordance with IFRS/GAAP
•Maintain timely reporting in accordance with company requirements to meet deadlines
•Support internal and external annual audits, tax, and review processes
Reporting:
•Support preparation and analysis of P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
•Work closely with local management and HQ accounting teams to ensure reporting information is available
•Maintain and create reports as needed
•Prepare financial data reports and other KPI results to leadership/management team
Budgeting, Planning and Forecasting:
•Support development and maintenance of annual budgets and periodic forecasts
•Analyze actual results and budget/forecast variances, providing insights, key performance indicators and recommendations
Analysis:
•Supports business analysis to identify financial and business trends designed to mitigate risk
•Provides recommendations and develops processes to improve business and financial performance

Requirements
Education:
•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
•CPA, CMA or MBA preferred
Experience:
•2+ years of accounting experience
•Advanced Microsoft Office Suite
•SAP experience preferred
•Experience with Concur and Adaptive Insights preferred
Other Requirements:
•Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal, able to clearly communicate financial information in an easy-to-understand manner at multiple levels and functions within the business
•Sound planning and organizational skills
•High level of proficiency in Excel and ERP/MRP systems
•Dual location position with travel required between Cottage Grove & Sturtevant, WI, with main office as Cottage Grove. Support for manufacturing facility travel (Sturtevant) monthly at minimum.
