In this position, you will ensure the efficient, continuous operation of the facility’s wastewater treatment plant under both routine and emergency conditions. You will oversee and participate in the operation, maintenance, and repair of essential equipment, including motors, pumps, compressors, valves, filters, chlorinators, digesters, aerators, grit removal systems, and other related components. Your responsibilities will include supervising and conducting sampling and chemical testing for overall environmental safety. You will schedule and assign work, monitor progress, and review completed tasks to ensure compliance with established procedures and operational standards, whether on a single shift or within a multi-shift environment. In addition, you will train and mentor assigned inmates in the proper operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment systems, assess their performance, and provide direct supervision of plant activities. You will also play a key role in maintaining safe, compliant operations while overseeing inmate participation in the facility’s wastewater treatment program.
