Corrections Specialist 2 (CS2) Resolution Specialist at the Washington Corrections Center located in Shelton, WA.
The Health Services Manager has direct responsibility of the health services incarcerated individual resolutions. Resolutions contribute to the agency’s mission to improve public safety by positively changing lives. Supports our commitment to operate a safe and humane corrections system and partner with other to transform lives for a better Washington. To ensure facilitation of this administrative program, this position will report directly to the facility Health Services Manager 3/designee and will oversee, coordinate, direct, manage and implement all aspects of the Incarcerated Individuals Resolution Program for Health Services as mandated by the Offender Resolution Program Manual and DOC Policy, Offender Resolution Program, 550.100. This position works closely with administrative and clinical staff which may also include the Headquarters’ Resolution Program Manager to ensure adherence and compliance to the established protocols and procedures of the incarcerated individual Resolution Program.

- Review documents for compliance .
- Ensure timely interviews are conducted.
- Encourage and role model informal remedies options
- Ensure that incarcerated individuals are interviewed at least once before a health services resolution is submitted at level Ill
- Provide directions to incarcerated individuals in writing, including directing them to the appropriate administrative process
- Correct health services administrative suggested responses provided by investigators when appropriate with the exception of medical responses.
- May track all assigned Health Services investigations ensuring administrative responses are timely.
- Responsible for conducting thorough investigations with emphasis at the level O and level 1.
- Confirm research, and fact finding is accomplished.
- Ensure appropriate administrative responses are submitted.
- Ensure DOC Policies, Facility Operations Memorandums and facility practices are followed when concerns are forwarded
- Review health services investigative packets to ensure they are complete
- Return incomplete investigations and issue new timelines for completion when necessary
- Coordinate as necessary between staff, incarcerated individuals, and/or operational issues.
- Engage in conversation with health services supervisors, clinical leaders, and administration to address.
Conduct research, training, and analysis:- Analyze resolution data reviewing trends.
- Provide appropriate data analysis and trends reporting to health services management on a regular basis including emergent issues as appropriate.
- Ensure health services staff and incarcerated individuals are knowledgeable in the resolution grogram by providing orientation/training.
- Assist with training of health services investigative staff as needed.
- Work with facility resolution coordinator on issues specific to health services.
Facilitate, direct, and implement all aspects of the facility’s Resolution Program (ORP)- Implement the program in accordance with DOC’s OGP Manual, and Policy 550.100 as it relates to health services.
- Responsible for providing the population with relevant documentation, information, and access to resolution programs as it relates to health services.
- Gather all complaints in accordance with policy from the facility resolution coordinator, review each resolution reguest to triage any urgent resolutions for immediate attention.
- Confirm all resolution documentation submitted is accurate and filed for appropriate processing.
- Administer appropriate health services resolution determinations and manage timelines at each level of review.
- Coordinate reguests to the facility resolution coordinator for notification of time extensions.
- Responsible for ensuring that appropriate health services responses are provided at levels 0, I II and Ill.
- Coordinate the processing of health services incarcerated individual resolutions at all levels, including emergency and PREA complaints, to ensure time requirements are met and work directly with the facility HS Resolution Coordinators.
- Maintain confidentiality of the program
Other duties as assignedRequired Qualifications:Six (6) years of professional experience providing healthcare case management services in adult or juvenile corrections, social services, or closely related field.
Knowledge and understanding of basic medical concepts, patient assessment and care planning, medical record management.
Knowledge and understanding of resolution, tort, or other investigative processes.
Proficiency using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to maintain accurate records, documenting resolutions, and managing cases efficiently and effectively is essential for ensuring compliance and accountability.
