Job Summary
As Corporate Counsel, you will provide practical and business-oriented legal advice and counseling on a range of pharmacy and healthcare programs, operations, and strategic initiatives, with a focus on payor contracting. Matters will vary in complexity and have a significant financial impact on business activities and operations. The ideal candidate will have experience negotiating and drafting transactional documents and an understanding of relevant federal and state regulatory frameworks.
Job Responsibilities - Handles routine legal matters which generally focus on applying knowledge of one or more legal specialties
- Typically receives specific direction from management or more senior law professionals as to the outcomes, process and schedules expected while developing a deeper knowledge of the business operations of the company
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to execute legal strategy
- Assists on cases, matters and projects, performs and supervises research, reviews standard documents and routine contracts, and prepares routine filings.
- Develops and implements internal legal policies and best practices to enhance operational efficiency
- Works to develop fluency in legal concepts impacting the work performed

Basic Qualifications- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and at least three (3) years of post-bar attorney legal work experience in a combination of law firm
- Required licensure to practice law in at least one state
- Required Illinois bar membership or active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- Experience with time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates
- Experience collaborating across business lines to develop and/or execute departmental strategies
- At least 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.
- At least 2 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross- functional team leadership.
- Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state)
Preferred Qualifications- Transactional Legal experience within Healthcare, Pharmacy or PBMs.
- Negotiating experience toward finalizing contracts and pharmacy healthcare agreements.

Salary Range: $115400 - $196200 / Salaried
