Corporate Controller – Metro Detroit (Confidential)

Overview

We are conducting a confidential search for a Corporate Controller to lead accounting and financial reporting for a growing manufacturing organization. This role reports directly to the CFO and will oversee all core accounting functions while driving process improvements and supporting strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead accounting operations including GL, AP, AR, and financial reporting
• Oversee month-end close, financial statements, and management reporting
• Drive budgeting, cost analysis, and working capital insights (including inventory)
• Manage external audit process and ensure compliance with accounting standards
• Provide financial analysis and business insights to leadership and the board
• Lead and develop accounting team members
• Drive process improvements across systems, reporting, and controls
• Support strategic initiatives including capital investments and potential M&A activity

Qualifications

• 6–10+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership exposure
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting background
• Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments required
• CPA strongly preferred; MBA a plus
• Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools
• Strong Power BI experience, including building queries and reporting
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
