Job Description:

We are looking for the Corporate and Investment Bank Payments Strategic Finance Lead to own Planning & Analysis (P&A) and strategic finance projects for the Payments business. This role is highly dynamic and will work with other individuals in transforming the finance function into a connected, forward-looking organization that enables strategic decision making for the business

The Planning & Analysis (P&A) team is responsible for partnering within the business and across the firm to provide financial and strategic analysis, central oversight and coordination of firmwide budgeting and forecasting, stress testing, competitive analysis, and central finance program management and execution. Additionally, the P&A team helps drive and improve automation, simplification of processes and the enhancement of analytics

Strategic finance projects include improving internal financial / KPI reporting and business EMRs, supporting LOB CFO JBRs, Payments business reviews / offsites / townhalls and collaborating with Payments strategy / transformation / BM teams on investor day presentations, regulatory updates and other special corporate finance topics.

The team believes in a collaborative approach, so relationship building will be key to success in this role. This is a highly visible role across the Payments organization reporting to the Payments CFO within Corporate and Investment Banking and with direct exposure to the Payments CEO, CIB CFO and head of P&A, offering the ability to work closely with a wide variety of stakeholders and senior business leads.

Required Responsibilities:

  • Compile, analyze and present financial results and forecasts (incl. balance sheet, revenues (net interest income and net interest revenue), expenses, headcount) for key initiatives such as quarterly payments earnings and monthly forecasts / annual budgets
  • Own expense and headcount management for the payments business including setting targets and tracking progress
  • Lead the finance transformation agenda, with the goal of creating self-serve interactive financial dashboards working in collaboration with other F&BM teams
  • Collaborate with strategy / F&BM teams to create internal and external facing senior management presentations (e.g., Investor Day materials, business reviews, EMRs, strategy offsites, town halls)
  • Develop essential management information for supporting decision making (e.g., analysis of competitor performance and market intelligence)
  • Own regulatory deliverables such as CCAR submission for fees and OCC / FRB business updates
  • Drive a high performance, team-oriented and inclusive culture across a large, global, and diverse team

Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required, Master's degree preferred
  • 10+ years of experience within Financial Services; knowledge of payments landscape preferred
  • Proven leadership of a team in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities simultaneously and assist in the development of a strong diverse culture with talent development and retention
  • Experience with either Planning and Analysis (preferred), Business Management, Project Management and / or Strategy required
  • Familiarity with Treasury-related concepts such as Interest Rate Risk, Liquidity Risk, Funds Transfer Pricing, Capital Allocation and Earnings at Risk
  • Strong team leader and change agent; passionate about developing the Strategic Planning & Analysis function of the future, including leveraging data analytics, automation and visualization tools
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to analyze financial performance for the current quarter/year & over a multi-year horizon through multiple lenses and work with complex balance sheet structures and products
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively and develop strong partnerships within all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work across senior levels of the organization, including Payments management team, CIB CFO and head of P&A, along with other senior finance and treasury leaders across the organization
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with multiple competing priorities and deliverables, working under tight timelines
