Coordinator of Community Outreach

Develop and administer non-credit personal enrichment programs for the SUNY Adirondack community.

Develop RFPs for in-need programming. Review course proposals, hire faculty, and oversee their work. Provide customer service to personnel, students, and faculty. Research new programs and opportunities. Review and address courses for profitability and success. Assist with marketing efforts and administer summer youth and adult programming.

  • Outreach to returning instructors for course proposals and schedules.
  • Outreach to new instructors for courses offered at Saratoga School District and Greenwich School District.
  • Draft and edit course descriptions.
  • Schedule courses in Banner.
  • Edit course brochure for accuracy.
  • Work with on-campus departments for course set up.
  • Send necessary hiring information to Human Resources/Business Office.
  • Review course evaluations.
  • Supervise faculty work and scheduling.
  • Manage course proposals.
  • Respond to questions from students and faculty.
  • Consult media and professional development sources to review trends in programming.
  • Develop surveys and compile data from course evaluations on program suggestions.
  • Coordinate and facilitate focus groups.
  • Manage development and deliver existing and new community-focused, non-credit course/programs in ways that advance equitable and inclusive learning communities.
  • Coordinate larger events as needed (Let’s Go STEM, N.A.E. Lecture & Lunch, Manufacturing Day)
  • Manage purchase requests for materials, course budgets and instructor pay.
  • Other duties as assigned by the President.

Successful candidate must have strong oral and written communication skills, as well as proficiency with all standard MS Office products and internet-based social media tools. In addition, the successful candidate must have the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse students and colleagues.

Associates degree required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Years of Experience
3 - 5 years of experience in higher education required. Experience in continuing education, workforce development, or non-credit programming within a community college setting is preferred.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
Office environment.Occasional lifting of 5lb-10lb.

Salary Range
$26.40 - $29.70 per hour
The selected candidate’s salary will be determined based on factors that include the available budget, internal equity, and the final candidate’s qualifications, experience, education and other job-related credentials. This hiring range is provided as SUNY Adirondack’s good faith estimate of the expected hiring range at the time ofposting.
