BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the general direction of a department director, plan, develop, coordinate and manage the Extended Student Services and After School Education and Safety programs; plan and oversee all program logistics, budgeting, and staffing; ensure program compliance on behalf of the District; plan and facilitate programmatic collaboration and outreach activities; and perform related duties as assigned.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
Plan, develop and manage the elementary school Extended Student Services (ESS) and middle school After School Education and Safety (ASES) programs to ensure high-quality service for students; develop, implement and monitor program policies and procedures; plan and manage districtwide logistics, staffing, equipment and supplies for before and after school programs; develop, monitor, and maintain the budget for districtwide before and after school programs to ensure fiscal accountability in support of an assigned director.
Serve as the primary District representative in ensuring compliance with federal, State, and local laws, regulations, and policies; monitor and plan for impending legislative changes impacting before and after school programs; assist in completing District and State reports.
Provide supervision and training to supervisors and staff within the ESS and ASES programs; work with site administration to ensure alignment between core day and afterschool programs and activities; collaborate with site and department staff to ensure full inclusion for students accessing special education services; liaise with other departments to enhance program offerings to students, including e-sports; integrate and differentiate the Extended Student Services and After School Education and Safety programs as appropriate.
Develop and implement the strategic vision and long-range plans of before and after school programs throughout the district; plan and facilitate stakeholder and team meetings with internal and external stakeholders as required to enhance program operations; review processes, records, and files and implement program changes to meet funding requirements and ensure continuous quality improvement.
Monitor districtwide program attendance and plan program modifications as needed; develop and implement outreach programs to increase student participation; develop novel opportunities to develop family and community partnerships; plan efforts for publicizing and promoting assigned programs.
Plan, coordinate, and oversee auditing activities and related documentation; compile records, prepare reports, and submit documentation to the District Office, San Diego County Office of Education, and state regulatory agencies as required.
Serve as a resource and liaison to school sites, departments, and other internal and external stakeholders to provide information and customer service, resolve complex concerns and unique problems, and conduct outreach and marketing.
Conduct regular evaluations and monitoring of program activities, records, and procedures to ensure compliance with existing and changing regulations; coordinate data collection for program evaluation and develop recommendations to enhance program operations and maintain compliance; compile and analyze records to develop budgetary recommendations for maintaining and enhancing program activities.
Resolve challenges and concerns by conducting research, communicating with regulatory representatives, coordinating with District administrators and staff, and liaising with families and other community members; implement updated policies and procedures as needed.
Provide direct guidance and oversight to operations supervisors in their daily oversight of program operations at assigned school sites; train, develop, supervise, and evaluate program staff to ensure high quality service to students and families; plan and lead staff training, monthly team meetings, and other events as required based on an assessment of staff strengths and opportunities for growth, as well as program needs and requirements.
Attend a variety of meetings, trainings, and conferences, assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Education: An associate’s degree in child development, elementary, secondary, or early childhood education. A bachelor’s degree is desirable.
Experience: Five years of experience supervising student programs, with at least two years supervising programs across multiple sites. Experience in a public school district setting is preferrable.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Valid California driver's license and availability of a private vehicle.
Valid certifications provided by American Heart Association, American Red Cross or other District-approved provider for First Aid, Adult/Child CPR and AED is desirable.

Coordinator, Before and After School Programs – the Coordinator, Before and After School Programs plans, manages, and oversees districtwide before and after school programs.
Extended Student Services Operations Supervisor – the ESS Operations Supervisor plans, organizes, and assists in the implementation, coordination, and supervision of the District’s Extended Student Services programs at assigned elementary school sites.
Extended Student Services Supervisor – the ESS Supervisor plans and coordinates the operations and supervision of an extended student services program at an assigned elementary school site.
Middle School After School Education and Safety Program Supervisor – The ASES Program Supervisor plans and coordinates operations and supervision of a middle school after school education and safety program at an assigned middle school.
