Electric Transportation (ET) Construction Coordinator

Please note;

** This position can be based anywhere within the State of Georgia.

** You must have a Minimum 5 years of experience in NEC system design, estimating, installation, and maintenance.

** An Electrical License for the State of Georgia is REQUIRED.

The travel for this position will be between 50% & 75%, daily. 

 

JOB SUMMARY: 

The ET Construction Coordinator exists to support Georgia Power’s strategic objective of implementing the behind-the meter electric transportation make-ready program as approved by the Georgia Public Service Commission. This position will work closely with the Electric Transportation Project Coordinators to assist with electric transportation make ready project designs to ensure that all National Electric Code (NEC) and National Electric Safety Code (NESC) installations and maintenance repairs meet local code requirements and GPC specifications. This position is responsible for coordinating, scheduling, tracking, and managing the installation and maintenance of electric transportation projects.

This individual is responsible for quality control, providing performance feedback to contractor workforce, approving payment of invoices, assisting with project designs, and addressing maintenance issues. This person is also responsible for ensuring that all ET projects are safely installed and repaired within cost estimates and comply with all codes, specifications, and exceed internal and external customer expectations.

 

Education & Job Experience

  • Undergraduate degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in NEC system design, estimating, installation, and maintenance
  • Experience with NESC system designs, installations, and repairs.
  • Experience managing contractor workforce.
  • Electrical License for the state of Georgia is required

 

 Job Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with Electric Transportation Project Coordinators to facilitate a make ready design that meets all safety, NEC and NESC codes and all Southern Company specifications.
  • Review all make ready estimates and project installation plan proposals from contractors to ensure all requirements for the scope of work and included
  • Conduct pre-construction job site visits to identify site conditions and conflicts that might impact the safe and timely installation of ET make ready facilities.
  • Coordinate Pre-construction meetings with GPC and Customer representatives to communicate job site responsibilities and coordinate construction schedules.
  • Coordinate with the appropriate Region personnel for the installation of ET make ready equipment and distribution facilities.
  • Ensure that contractor has all permits and utility locates are in place prior to the commencement of construction and remain valid throughout the construction process.
  • Review and approval of contract labor cost and the tracking of all labor associated with each make ready project.
  • Manage make ready project schedules to ensure all commitment dates are achieved.
  • Inspect completed ET make ready new installation and ET maintenance repair projects to ensure compliance with all applicable codes and specifications.
  • Assist internal and external personnel with issues related to maintenance of GPC owned make ready equipment.
