The Control Systems Software Engineer is responsible for providing technical programming and commissioning support for equipment to customers in North America. This role focuses on the software aspects of systems including Siemens and Rockwell PLC/HMI, PCs, and other controls software utilized in industry solutions. The engineer will participate and support SAT, IQ/OQ, and PQ activities for new installations across Radiopharma, Pharma, and Cell & Gene Therapy (ATMP) projects.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze project technical specifications to ensure alignment with objectives.
  • Monitor project objectives and manage the assigned team effectively.
  • Draft necessary documentation for various project phases.
  • Develop software according to specifications and project timelines.
  • Supervise and manage the team to achieve required objectives.
  • Contribute to the choice of components and define network architectures.
  • Participate in technical alignment meetings to discuss progress and issues.
  • Follow testing and FAT after downloading software onto machines.
  • Oversee commissioning and SAT once machines are installed.
  • Verify job critical issues, evaluate project timelines, and resolve technical problems.
  • Request operational resources and propose standardization improvements.
  • Support colleagues in drafting and finalizing technical documents.
  • Ensure products comply with company and international quality standards.
  • Ensure products meet desired technical specifications and address non-conformities.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or post-secondary education in Automation Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Electronics.
  • 3+ years of experience in controls engineering software.
  • Proficiency in PLC development environments, preferably Siemens (TiaPortal, Step7), Rockwell, B&R.
  • Knowledge of Scada/HMI environments: Siemens WinCC TiaPortal, Movicon, Rockwell, B&R.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with Vision Systems, Data Management, and Filling Equipment.
  • Familiarity with 6-axis robots and pick-and-place systems.
  • Understanding of Hot Cells and related technologies.
  • Industries of interest include Pharma, Food & Beverage, Industrial Automation, Oil & Gas, Chemical Plant, Automotive, and Paper Mill.
Work Environment

The work environment involves installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of Radiopharma filler lines and fillers. The role requires 50% domestic travel with occasional trips to Italy, primarily to locations such as Seattle, Salt Lake City, Indiana, and Philadelphia, with potential travel to Canada. A company card is provided for travel booking, and a per diem is included. While not traveling, the role requires presence in the Indianapolis area three days a week, with the option to work remotely for two days. The position offers a flexible schedule with two weeks on and one week off, occasionally extending up to four weeks off. A blood test is part of the onboarding process.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.30 - $57.69/hr.
