Job Summary


Under general supervision, you will collaborate with project teams, design detailed controls systems, program control sequences, estimating, graphics creation, submittals creation, other technicians training, sales training, product launch and documentation. Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and ensure systems operate efficiently and effectively to meet the environmental needs of various customers.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure the timely completion of assigned controls projects, meeting quality standards and customer satisfaction requirements, including commissioning, programming, start-up, site database development, graphical interfaces, testing, documentation, reporting, and operator training.
  • Review control project estimates and engineering deliverables for regional projects to ensure technical accuracy and feasibility.
  • Coordinate controls projects by developing and executing work plans in collaboration with the Project Manager for start-up and commissioning activities.
  • Support the controls team during project take-off, scope definition, and cost estimation processes.
  • Develop and standardize controls routines to ensure consistent implementation across the region.
  • Provide advanced technical support for controls systems and related applications.
  • Evaluate products, system designs, and cost structures, and recommend improvements to enhance performance and competitive positioning.
  • Support the planning and development of prototype test programs.
  • Analyze test data and generate reports to verify compliance with functional and performance specifications.
  • Deliver technical training sessions for sales teams, technicians, clients, and project personnel.
  • Manage the development, deployment, and continuous improvement of the Miami office controls laboratory.
  • Lead laboratory operations by ensuring functionality, maintaining up-to-date equipment and software, and developing technical demonstrations, training sessions, and presentations for internal teams and customers.

Requirements

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Technical, Scientific, or Engineering fields
  • Preferred Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering (ABET-accredited), preferably in Electrical, Mechanical, Control Systems, or a related field
  • Minimum Experience: 3+ years of related experience
  • Language: Spanish & English Required
  • Understanding of HVAC equipment and components
  • Understanding of electrical schematics and other instrumentation used in the development of control systems.
  • have knowledge of MS office suite, Autocad or Visio, EC-NET, Distech GFX, Niagara and other automation applications
  • Niagara certified or have a certification in other BAS automation platforms.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts and to convert those concepts in routines and algorithms.Ability to apply these algorithms to practical situations.
  • Proficient with fundamentals of instrumentation, including RTDs, thermocouples, pressure transducers, flow meters, electrical and power measurements, and analog/digital data acquisition.
  • Formal coursework in the areas of measurement systems, heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, machine design, and strength of materials preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask & reprioritize tasks frequently
  • Must be able to work cooperatively and effectively with laboratory, design, and product marketing teams
  • Programming experience
