Controller

JF Fitness of North America DBA Crunch Fitness
Richmond, VA

About the Opportunity

JF Fitness of North America is one of the fastest-growing Crunch Fitness franchisees in the country — and we're just getting started. With roughly 40 gyms across nine states and an ambitious growth roadmap ahead, we're building the financial infrastructure to match our momentum. We're looking for a sharp, driven Controller to be a cornerstone of that effort.

This isn't a seat-warming role. You'll be a key voice in the room, partnering directly with our CFO to shape financial strategy, lead a high-performing accounting team, and bring the rigor and visibility our growth demands. If you're someone who takes ownership, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and genuinely loves the craft of accounting — this is the role for you.

What You'll Do

  • Lead all financial reporting, analysis, and performance communication to leadership
  • Partner with the CFO on forecasting, budgeting, and long-range financial planning
  • Build and maintain financial models that drive real business decisions
  • Oversee payroll, compliance, and internal controls
  • Manage and develop the accounting team — setting standards, providing training, and building capacity
  • Own company cash flow management end-to-end
  • Design and implement accounting policies, procedures, and process improvements
  • Analyze complex financial data and surface the metrics that matter most

What We're Looking For

  • 5–7 years of experience in a Controller role (not just total accounting experience — we want someone who's been here before)
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA or CPA a plus
  • Deep proficiency in NetSuite and Excel, particularly around management accounting and cost allocation
  • Proven ability to lead and develop an accounting team
  • Strong command of cash flow management, financial forecasting, and internal controls
  • Someone who can take complex data and distill it into clear, actionable insight
  • Exceptional organizational skills — you don't wait to be told what to do next
  • A genuine desire to grow with the company and help build something lasting

Compensation & Perks

  • Competitive salary
  • Full-time, on-site role
  • 3 weeks PTO
  • Group health benefits
  • 401(k)
  • Complimentary gym membership
