Job Description

This position is responsible for the wiring and final assembly of panel boards related to low and medium voltage switchgears.

Responsibilities

  • Wire electrical control panels and related components.
  • Follow wiring diagrams and schematics accurately.
  • Install pre-wired panels into control boxes.
  • Terminate wiring based on schematic instructions.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues using blueprints and schematic drawings to determine wiring layout.
  • Inspect parts to identify defects and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Use proper protective equipment and tools as required by the task.
  • Maintain regular in-person attendance as a crucial part of this role.

Essential Skills

  • At least 2 years of experience as a Panel Builder or Panel Wirer in a job shop environment.
  • Knowledge of electrical symbols and schematics.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Proficiency in using shop equipment and hand tools.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions, including understanding fractions and decimals.
  • Capability to follow instructions and work effectively with others.
  • Fluent in reading, writing, and conversing in English to facilitate department huddles, collaborate with engineers and project managers, and assign duties to team members.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Technical School preferred but not required.

Work Environment

The work takes place in a medium-sized, clean, and modern facility with comfortable temperatures, comprising 60 employees. The facility is equipped to handle everything from fabrication, welding, wiring, to assembly, ensuring a comprehensive manufacturing process.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Charles, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
