Job Title: Continuous Improvement Engineer

Location: Harvard, IL

Salary: $60,000-$75,000


LHH Recruitment Solutions is currently seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to join our client's organization in the Harvard, IL area.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement across production and facility operations.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify improvement ideas and support implementation.
  • Collect and analyze operational data to troubleshoot issues, eliminate waste, and reduce downtime.
  • Develop actionable project plans and lead teams through execution and completion.
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives using tools such as Kaizen, 5S, process mapping, root‑cause analysis, error proofing, and visual management.
  • Manage multiple improvement projects simultaneously while meeting timelines and deliverables.
  • Communicate effectively with associates, production leadership, and support departments to ensure alignment.
  • Establish, update, and standardize processes to drive operational improvements.
  • Implement or refine workflows to increase productivity and optimize yield.
  • Conduct product costing analysis and support cost‑reduction initiatives.
  • Coach team members in Lean methodologies and continuous improvement practices.
  • Identify performance gaps and drive transformation of existing systems or processes.
  • Support environmental reporting and compliance requirements, as needed.
  • Follow company quality standards, safety rules, policies, and participate in 5S activities.
  • Participate in ongoing training and perform additional duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in manufacturing, engineering, or continuous improvement roles (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts, CI tools, and problem‑solving techniques.
  • Experience working with data and databases to support analysis and decision‑making.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced production environment.
