Position Summary

The CTP Site Superintendent is primarily responsible to train, coach, and direct the work of CTP students on the build site. When CTP students are not on a build site, this position will function as a backup to the CTP Manager and/or act as a Site Superintendent.


Primary Position Responsibilities

  • Independently lead and direct the work of CTP students in basic construction tasks including framing floors/walls, sheeting walls, installing insulation/doors/windows/cabinets/trim, and painting.
  • Provide daily on-time feedback to all students to assist in their professional development.
  • Help the students create daily task lists based on the completion of tasks for the current day and what needs to be accomplished the next day.
  • Lead, direct, and train students to get tools and materials set up for the tasks of the day based on the task list.
  • Lead, direct, and train students to properly put away tools and materials at the end of the day
  • Attending Operations meetings as needed, responsible for knowing what is going on in the construction department, specifically as it pertains to scheduling and volunteers

Additional Position Responsibilities

When CTP Students are not present onsite you may be asked to personally perform the tasks listed above and below:

Act as a back-up to the CTP Manager:

  • NCCER certified trainer
  • OSHA certified trainer and proctor
  • Teaching construction program modules and proctor tests
  • Coordinate schedule for program in conjunction with other partners at CityLink
  • Teach and facilitate evening classes (for example, teaching classes about framing, electric, plumbing, HVAC, drywall, construction 101)
  • Outreach for employers and students
  • Interviews for CTP
  • Attend CityLink Center events for students (includes some evenings)

Site Superintendent responsibilities include:

  • Manage daily operations on site
  • Continually create, maintain, and follow a two-week site schedule
  • Maintain daily logs in Buildertrend
  • Manage day-to-day activities of AmeriCorps members.
  • Lead volunteers to accomplish tasks by providing support and guidance
  • Proactively communicate with Manager


Qualifications

  • A valid driver’s license is required
  • A minimum of 2 years of management and leadership experience required
  • A minimum of 2 years of training experience required
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in all phases of the residential construction process
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends
  • Must be able to lift 80 pounds independently/regularly and function on scaffolding, ladders, and roofs.
  • Ability to read and understand plans and construction details
  • Must be familiar with residential building codes
  • Broad residential construction knowledge
  • Experience working for a production homebuilder is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field preferred
