Position Overview

The Lead Construction Superintendent will be responsible for managing all field operations from mobilization through project completion. This individual will lead onsite construction activities, coordinate subcontractors and vendors, maintain project schedules, enforce safety standards, and ensure the successful delivery of a high-profile public park project.

The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, civil/site construction expertise, and the ability to coordinate multiple moving parts in an active construction environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all day-to-day onsite construction operations
  • Manage and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, inspectors, and field personnel
  • Oversee site development activities including:
  • Underground utilities
  • Storm drainage systems
  • Water and sewer infrastructure
  • Retention ponds
  • Grading and earthwork
  • Site clearing and preparation
  • Paving and roadway improvements
  • Concrete work
  • Smaller structural components and park facilities
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules
  • Conduct daily subcontractor coordination meetings
  • Ensure project milestones and deadlines are achieved
  • Monitor manpower, productivity, equipment usage, and material deliveries
  • Coordinate inspections with municipalities and regulatory agencies
  • Maintain quality control throughout all phases of construction
  • Review plans, specifications, RFIs, and shop drawings
  • Identify and resolve field conflicts proactively
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, logs, and progress documentation
  • Ensure compliance with all OSHA and company safety standards
  • Lead and enforce a strong safety culture onsite
  • Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Owners, and Design Teams
  • Assist with budgeting, cost control, and schedule recovery planning when necessary
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite
  • Mentor Assistant Superintendents and field staff
  • Represent the company professionally with clients, consultants, and public stakeholders


Qualifications

  • 7+ years of construction superintendent experience preferred
  • Strong background in civil/site construction required
  • Experience with underground utilities, drainage systems, retention ponds, grading, and earthwork
  • Experience leading large public, municipal, park, infrastructure, or site development projects preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing and scheduling
  • Proven leadership and subcontractor management abilities
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and jobsite safety management
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with construction management software and daily reporting systems preferred
