Position Overview
A growing commercial general contractor is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee field operations on a variety of commercial construction projects throughout the Houston market. This individual will be responsible for managing day-to-day jobsite activities, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining project schedules, enforcing safety standards, and delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget.
The ideal candidate will have experience leading commercial construction projects in the $3M-$5M range and a proven ability to successfully manage projects from groundbreaking through turnover.
Responsibilities
- Manage all field operations throughout the construction lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain short-term and long-term project schedules in coordination with the Project Manager.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and onsite personnel.
- Conduct daily site walks to ensure quality, productivity, and safety standards are met.
- Lead subcontractor coordination meetings and daily planning activities.
- Monitor project progress and proactively identify and resolve field issues.
- Ensure work is completed in accordance with plans, specifications, and project requirements.
- Maintain project documentation including daily reports, safety records, inspections, and progress updates.
- Coordinate inspections with local authorities and third-party consultants.
- Manage punch list completion and project closeout activities.
- Foster strong relationships with clients, design teams, and project stakeholders.
- Enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations on all projects.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent with a commercial general contractor.
- Proven experience leading commercial construction projects valued between $3M-$5M.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, and field operations.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Experience managing subcontractor performance and coordinating multiple trades.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and jobsite safety practices.
- Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and construction management software.
Preferred Project Experience
Candidates should have direct experience overseeing one or more of the following project types:
- Yoga Studios and boutique fitness facilities
- Multifamily construction projects
- Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) projects
- Museums and cultural facilities
- K-12 educational facilities
Experience managing occupied renovations, phased construction projects, and fast-paced commercial environments is highly preferred.

Please Note: Candidates must have recent commercial construction experience with a General Contractor. Experience limited to residential construction will not be considered.
