Salary Range: $65,000 - $95,000 based on experience
Role Description
The Project Engineer will support the execution of a 150+ unit multifamily construction project through coordination of project documentation, subcontractor communication, scheduling support, quality tracking, procurement assistance, and field coordination. This role works on-site with the Project Manager and Superintendent to maintain project flow, minimize delays, and ensure accurate, timely information management throughout construction. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
Responsibilities:
Project Coordination
- Support Project Manager and Superintendent in daily project operations
- Regularly attend the project meetings with the project manager and generate the minutes of each meeting (content to include both PM and PE notes) Draft agenda for sub-coordination meetings.
- Maintain current drawing sets, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and project logs
- Assist with coordination between ownership, architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors
- Track open issues and help drive resolution timelines
RFI & Submittal Management
- Prepare, log, distribute, and track RFIs
- Manage submittal workflow from subcontractor submission through approval
Document Control
- Maintain organized digital and physical project files of all documents pertaining to the project
- Distribute updated plans, bulletins, sketches, ASIs, and revisions to field teams and subcontractors
- Ensure field personnel are working from current document sets
- Manage meeting minutes and project correspondence
Schedule Support
- Assist PM and Superintendent with look-ahead schedules and milestone tracking
- Monitor procurement lead times and identify potential schedule impacts
- Track long-lead items and coordinate delivery schedules
Field Coordination
- Participate in site walks and coordination meetings
- Assist with quality control and help coordinate inspections
- Verify subcontractor progress against reported completion
Financial Record & Cost Support
- Assist with change order tracking and documentation
- Maintain subcontract and procurement logs
Closeout & Turnover Coordination
- Track stock, warranties, O&M; manuals, and as-built documentation
- Assist with punch list management and closeout completion
- Coordinate final documentation required for turnover
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred
- 1–5 years of construction experience preferred
- Experience with multifamily construction strongly preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Proficiency in software platforms (i.e. Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, OneDrive, Adobe Acrobat)
- Pass a Pre-Employment Drug Test
