Job Title: General Laborer
Job Description

The General Laborer supports a long-term, high-end residential demolition project by performing site cleanup, material delivery, and basic construction support tasks. This role helps maintain a safe, organized job site while assisting the project team with day-to-day operational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough site cleanup, including removing debris, sweeping, and maintaining a clean and organized work area throughout the project.
  • Assist with material deliveries by unloading, staging, and moving materials to designated areas on the job site.
  • Support construction activities on a high-end residential demolition project as directed by the project team.
  • Use general construction hand tools and power tools safely and correctly to complete assigned tasks.
  • Block off entries and exit ways to control access and maintain a safe work environment around active work areas.
  • Drill and install plywood and similar materials as needed to secure areas and support demolition activities.
  • Follow all site safety procedures and comply with OSHA and site-specific safety requirements.
  • Communicate with project team members to understand daily priorities and complete tasks efficiently.
  • Report progress, issues, or safety concerns promptly to the project leadership on site.
Essential Skills
  • Experience performing general labor duties on construction sites.
  • Ability to perform site cleanup tasks, including debris removal and general housekeeping.
  • Hands-on experience using basic construction hand tools.
  • Hands-on experience using power tools in a construction or demolition environment.
  • Ability to assist with material deliveries, including lifting, carrying, and staging materials safely.
  • Familiarity with site safety practices, including blocking off entries and exit ways.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • SST (Site Safety Training) certification.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • High-end residential construction or demolition experience preferred.
  • Experience working on high-end residential projects in urban environments is a plus.
  • Ability to follow directions from project leadership and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to perform physically demanding tasks.

Work Environment

This role is based on high-end residential demolition projects located above 59th Street in New York City. You work on active construction sites, frequently handling materials, tools, and debris in a fast-paced environment. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. You report directly to on-site project management. The work involves standing, walking, lifting, and working around noise, dust, and typical demolition conditions while following all safety protocols. Appropriate construction attire and personal protective equipment, including a hard hat, are required on site, and company-branded T-shirts are provided after one month.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New York, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $27.00/hr.
