MKCI is a comprehensive litigation defense firm with a proven track record of successfully defending clients in high-stakes civil litigation cases across various general liability and product liability/toxic tort matters. Although our attorneys are skilled in handling diverse legal matters, our expertise lies in litigating and trying complex cases related to premises liability, construction defect, general liability, product liability (including but not limited to asbestos and talc related claims), public entities, and medical malpractice.


Attorneys at MKCI handle complex disputes, develop defense strategy, provide strategic solutions, and zealously defending our clients in preparation for and at trial. This position involves client interaction and court appearances. The successful candidate will be based out of MKCI's Coral Springs, FL office - hybrid and remote work options are available.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of complex civil litigation matters from inception through resolution via trial, dismissal, or settlement.
  • Draft and review pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other legal documents.
  • Argue motions and other case dispositions in Court.
  • Participate in client meetings, prepare case analysis reports, and provide effective and strategic legal advice to our clients.
  • Conduct and manage all phases of discovery, including depositions, examinations, expert identification, retention, and preparation, and witness preparation.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and staff within the firm to provide comprehensive legal services.


Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • 7+ years of experience as an attorney in civil defense litigation - salary commensurate with experience - range for role is $150,000 to $185,000.
  • Civil trial verdicts preferred.
  • Admitted to practice law in Florida.
  • Superior analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining high ethical standards and professionalism.
