Job Description

Join our team as a General Laborer, providing critical environmental cleaning services at a prestigious data center project in Cedar Rapids, IA. This role offers a long-term opportunity to work on ongoing construction cleaning and final cleaning services for a significant project.

Responsibilities

• Clean all exposed interior surfaces within the construction area, from the floor to the building deck above.
• Perform tasks such as mopping, wiping, vacuuming, and brushing surfaces to remove dust and dirt.
• Utilize scissor lifts, boom poles, brooms, and towels for hard-to-reach areas.
• Stay alert while working around active construction sites.
• Pressure wash outside panels, generator coverings, and flooring once installed.
• Stand, kneel, and bend while utilizing ladders for various cleaning tasks.

Essential Skills

• Experience in construction, cleaning, and general labor.
• Familiarity with janitorial tasks and hand tools.
• Knowledge of mitigation, restoration, and environmental remediation.
• Experience operating scissor lifts and heavy equipment.
• Valid driver's license.
• 1+ years of experience in a laborious role.
• Ability to stand for 10+ hours a day.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in a construction environment is preferred.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions, both hot and cold.

Work Environment

Work hours are Monday to Friday, 7 am to 3:30 pm, with occasional overtime and Saturdays. The first day starts at 5:30 am for orientation. Pack a lunch with an ice pack as there are no fridges, but microwaves are available. The average workweek is 42 hours. Dress code includes steel-toed boots, jeans, and work-appropriate shirts. ANSI-approved hard hats, safety glasses, safety vests, and cut-resistant gloves are provided unless already owned by contractors. Work is performed 90% indoors and 10% outdoors, with power washing continuing through the winter, so appropriate dress for the elements is necessary. Contractors will work in groups of 4-5 and must check in daily with a 10-minute walk from the parking lot to the guard shack.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Cedar Rapids,IA.
