The Conflicts Analyst has responsibility for the entire conflict research and identification process as it relates to new business of the firm, from research and identification through resolution and clearance. This will include preparing initial conflicts analysis, providing support to firm attorneys in resolution and clearing of conflicts and drafting of engagement and waiver letters. The Conflicts Analyst will work with the attorneys in the department’s leadership in ensuring firm compliance with ethical rules governing lawyers and complete other projects as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Performs conflict research related to new business of the firm, using legal conflict research software and other tools and analyzes data to identify possible conflicts of interest. Generates and prepares written analysis of conflict reports and works with submitting attorneys to identify and resolve conflicts, including drafting engagement and waiver letters. Annotates reports with additional information and identifies possible conflict situations, as well as results of the resolution process. Supports the submitting attorney throughout the entire conflicts process.
  • Ability to maintain and keep several pending requests organized; be prepared to give updates or provide knowledge about status of requests to submitting attorneys and assistants.
  • Ensures that new business requests conform to firm policy, that they are complete and accurate, that they accurately reflect written terms of engagement with clients, and that they are processed promptly and correctly. The Conflicts Analyst has significant contact with attorneys and assistants; routinely troubleshoots and resolves end-user questions and concerns.
  • When needed, works with the Associate General Counsel and Professional Responsibility Counsel to ensure conflicts are properly identified and resolved, and written engagement terms meet ethical requirements as well as firm business needs.
  • Works with the CNB Manager to ensure any needed ethics screens are erected as soon as the client or matter is opened.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Must have prior experience as a Conflicts Analyst

In support of transparency and equity in the workplace, Foley provides salary ranges for all positions. The figures below representthe full compensation range of this position. The actual offered amount will be between the range minimum and midpoint based on the following factors: education, experience, geographic market, and internal pay equity at Foley.Milwaukee - $63,900 to $89,500
