Akkodis is seeking a CNC Operator/Programmer role is a 6+ Months Contract to hire with a client located in Woodstock, NY.
Pay Range: $30-$35/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Key Responsibilities
WHO WE NEED: A CNC Programmer that can translate engineering blueprints and 3D CAD models into precise, machine-readable code (G-code/M-code). Programmer utilizes CAM software to direct CNC machines (mills, lathes) in fabricating precision parts. Programmer is responsible for selecting tools, determining speeds/feeds, simulating, and troubleshooting programs to ensure efficiency and quality.
DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyze blueprints, CAD models, and specifications to create, edit, and optimize CNC programs.
- Utilize CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360) to design toolpaths and simulate operations to avoid collisions.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and materials for the production process.
- Troubleshoot and revise programs to eliminate errors, improve cycle times, and optimize production efficiency.
- Inspect and verify finished parts against engineering drawings to ensure accuracy.
WHAT YOU BRING:
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of G-code, M-code, and CAM/Master CAM software.
- Mathematical & Analytical Skills: Proficiency in trigonometry, geometry, and blueprint reading.
- Machining Knowledge: Understanding of cutting tool properties, material properties, and speeds/feeds.
- Education: a high school diploma, plus a certificate or associates degree in CNC programming, machining, or manufacturing technology.
- Experienced in programming Fanuc and Siemens controllers.
