CNC Mill Machinist

Pay Rate: $86,200–$91,520 per year
Job Summary
The CNC Machinist is responsible for producing precision machined parts by setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC milling machines. This role ensures quality, safety, and efficiency standards are met while supporting aerospace manufacturing operations.
Required Skills & Experience
- 2+ years of CNC machining experience with CNC Mills, preferably in aerospace manufacturing
- Hands-on experience with 4–5 axis CNC milling machines
- Ability to set up, operate, and run CNC machines independently
- Proficiency using inspection equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations
- Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensional Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Understanding of cutting tool geometry, tooling, and tool coordination
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience working with Mazak, Fadal, or Toyoda CNC machines
- Understanding of CNC G-code
- Knowledge of basic math, geometry, and trigonometry
Essential Functions
- Interpret work orders, blueprints, manufacturing orders, and machining parameters
- Verify and validate materials prior to machining
- Maintain part specifications and tolerances
- Troubleshoot machining issues, identify malfunctions, and take corrective action
- Identify worn tools and determine when replacements are required
- Monitor machining operations by sound and vibration to detect issues and adjust as needed
- Measure finished parts to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments and GD&T standards
- Document work and communicate status to ensure continuity across shifts
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisor or management
