Position Overview
The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for operating CNC machinery and supporting manufacturing operations through accurate machining, inspections, and quality control processes. This role requires strong technical knowledge, blueprint reading skills, and the ability to maintain productivity in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with safety standards while producing high-quality components efficiently and accurately.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Read and interpret process sheets, blueprints, sketches, and work instructions to determine machining operations and dimensional specifications
• Mount workpieces into fixtures, chucks, or centers and prepare machines for operation
• Operate one or more CNC machine tools and monitor machining operations
• Observe machine control displays and verify dimensional adjustments, feed rates, and machining
speeds
• Make tooling and size offset adjustments as required
• Read and understand basic G/M codes
• Inspect first-run parts and perform spot inspections on subsequent pieces to ensure compliance
with specifications
• Organize materials and job packets for upcoming production runs during machine cycles
• Maintain clean and organized machine, floor, and work areas at all times
• Complete timecards, process sheets, tub cards, and reject tags accurately
• Segregate and place rejected or scrap material in designated locations
• Perform machine setups with low complexity independently within allocated production timelines
• Complete first article inspections and support quality requirements
