This position provides administrative oversight for community outreach and education focusing on prevention and early detection of cancer. The position works collaboratively with key AHS departments and key stakeholders (corporate and community health, AMG providers and community agencies) to deliver relevant cancer education and focused community outreach.
Principal Accountabilities:
• Assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of outreach goals and objectives for program in compliance with grant requirements and other regulatory/accrediting agencies.
• Coordinates, develops and evaluates outreach / education programs and services in collaboration with hospital personnel, departments, and community agencies.
• Develops and evaluates the delivery outreach strategies using evidence-based models and evaluation techniques. Monitors appropriate indicators for productivity, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Oversight and supervision of outreach assistant and staff under the Screen NJ grant providing patient navigation support.
• Maintains required documentation and statistical data as required by department, hospital policy and/or regulatory agencies. Uses data to evaluate and ensure quality services are provided.
• Collaborates and consults with other members of the oncology service line and other hospital departments to support the delivery of quality patient services and outreach strategies
• Supervises and orients personnel, students/interns, volunteers, and support staff as appropriate/assigned. Conducts performance appraisals of team members.
• Attends key meetings/committees as appropriate/assigned. Serves as a point of contact with the Department of Health and key organizations
