California YIMBY is seeking a passionate, people-centered Community Impact Intern to support our work building a more affordable and sustainable housing future in California. This internship offers hands-on experience in grassroots organizing, coalition building, political and communications strategy, and volunteer engagement for a statewide movement.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the growth and management of California YIMBY’s partner network by onboarding new partners, tracking partnership agreements, and maintaining up-to-date records with district-specific and organizational information.
Assist in planning and executing community engagement efforts, including webinars, trainings, and local events that activate advocates and build grassroots power. Help recruit, coordinate, and mobilize volunteers for political organizing, including canvassing and rapid-response actions. Support volunteer onboarding, track engagement, and help create pathways for volunteers to take on leadership roles within the movement.
Take a lead role in managing the California YIMBY events newsletter. Contribute to coalition-building efforts by supporting outreach to aligned organizations and helping strengthen relationships across the housing and transit-oriented development space. Provide administrative and programmatic support across community impact initiatives, and take on additional projects as assigned to advance California YIMBY’s mission.
