We are looking for a talented Commodity Buyer to join our growing team. A Commodity Buyer is responsible for the strategic sourcing, procurement, and supplier management of assigned commodities to support high-volume automotive manufacturing operations. This role ensures cost competitiveness, supply continuity, quality compliance, and alignment with production requirements while driving continuous improvement and value across the supply base.
What you will be responsible for:
- Market analysis, bid comparisons, processing of orders and invoices
- Selection of high quality suppliers during simultaneous concentration of the number of suppliers
- Detection of synergy potentials
- Preparation of purchasing strategies after consultation with specialist departments
- Negotiation with suppliers
- Preparation/completion of the necessary contract documents
- Awarding contracts, in accordance with existing corporate policies
- Developing supplier strategies
- Maintenance and development of important customer-supplier relationships
- Processing of complaints from escalation level
- Initiation and monitoring of supplier development measures
- Commitment to achieving the savings targets and responsible for the corresponding continuous improvement programs in the context of purchasing goals
- Preparation/completion of the necessary BET, RFQ and project review documents
- Support and participation in projects
- Personnel planning and management of subordinate employees
- Complete other duties as assigned.
What will you bring to the table (Skills/Experience Required):
- Economics or engineering degree specializing in materials management/purchasing with a strong technical understanding
- 5-8 years of purchasing experience preferred
- Commercial and/or technical training
- Experience in Parts, Tools, Devices, Capex, MRO, etc.
- Negotiating skills and guaranteed completion that have grown steadily in contract negotiations with national and international partners
- Product and market knowledge
- PC/DP skills - also SAP R3
- English language skills
- Willingness for customer-oriented cooperation in project management teams
- Contract law
- English language skills
