The Associate Commercial Litigation Attorney supports senior attorneys in handling complex business disputes from pre-suit investigation through trial and, when needed, appeal. The role typically involves representing clients in state and federal courts, as well as in arbitration and mediation settings.


Core Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal research and analyze commercial disputes.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, memoranda, discovery requests, and responses.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Attend hearings, court appearances, mediations, and trials.
  • Work with partners and colleagues to develop case strategy.
  • Communicate with clients and opposing counsel in a clear, professional manner.


Typical Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school with honors.
  • Admission to the Florida Bar, or eligibility for admission.
  • 2–6 years of litigation experience, with a focus on civil or commercial matters.
  • Strong research, writing, oral advocacy, discovery, and case-management skills.
  • Prior law firm experience is often preferred (Big Law or strong Boutique), especially in complex commercial disputes.
