New Edge Associates, a Talent Acquisition Firm, is partnering with a well-established community bank seeking a Commercial Real Estate Lending Assistant to support its CRE lending team. This role will provide administrative, operational, and transactional support throughout the commercial real estate loan lifecycle, assisting lenders with underwriting coordination, loan documentation, closing preparation, and portfolio management activities.


The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously in a fast-paced banking environment. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with borrowers, attorneys, title companies, appraisers, and internal banking departments.


Job Requirements

  • Support CRE lenders with loan originations, renewals, modifications, and extensions
  • Prepare and assemble loan packages for underwriting, approval, and closing
  • Coordinate and track third-party reports including appraisals, environmental reports, surveys, title work, and zoning reports
  • Review loan documentation for accuracy and completeness prior to closing
  • Coordinate with attorneys, title companies, appraisers, and vendors to ensure timely loan closings
  • Gather borrower financial information including tax returns, financial statements, rent rolls, and operating statements
  • Input and maintain borrower and loan data within banking and credit systems
  • Assist with preparation of credit memorandums, financial spreads, covenant tracking, and internal loan materials
  • Monitor post-closing requirements, ticklers, maturities, insurance coverage, and escrow items
  • Serve as a point of contact for borrowers regarding documentation requests and closing logistics
  • Coordinate with internal departments including Credit, Compliance, Loan Operations, and Closing teams
  • Maintain accurate electronic and physical loan files in accordance with bank policies and procedures
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the commercial real estate lending team


Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Real Estate, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial lending, loan administration, credit support, or commercial banking required
  • Experience supporting Commercial Real Estate (CRE) lending transactions preferred
  • Understanding of commercial real estate lending concepts including DSCR, LTV, NOI, and cap rates preferred
  • Experience working with appraisals, title work, environmental reports, and closing documentation preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and transactions simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Experience working with loan origination or banking systems preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and follow-through
